Synopsis: Gul Dukat is a senior officer in Central Command, the military branch of the Cardassian government. Charming, conniving, and a born leader, Dukat survived family scandal to rise to the very top of his planetary government by negotiating a secret treaty with the ruling power of the Gamma Quadrant, the Dominion. He retained the rank of gul because he claimed he always felt more hands on and effective than when serving as a legate. Although he gives lip service to family ties and patriotism, he has always been most concerned with his own standing and power and has shown himself to be utterly ruthless in attaining and holding it.
